Recalculating, Recalculating . . . Enhancing the Learning Journey

The 6^th Annual VACMS (Virginia Council of Mathematics Specialists) Conference begins Thursday, September 28, 2017  with check-in, lunch and networking, 11:00 AM at Germana Community College, 18121 Technology Drive, Culpeper, VA.  The conference keynote speech will begins at noon, followed by breakout sessions.  Friday, September 29 begins with a continental breakfast at 8:30 followed by conference choice presentations based on the conference theme at 9:00.  Our day together ends with lunch at 1:30.

The theme for the conference is Recalculating, Recalculating . . . Enhancing the Learning Journey.

2017 Conference Strands 

• Coaching for Effective Teaching: Enhance instruction with research informed teaching practices.
• Influencing Access and Equity: Engage diverse learners in high quality math programs and instruction.
• Enhancing Math Leaders' Skills: Work with adults, facilitate PLCs and grade level meetings, evaluate curriculum materials and technology resources, and the transition to the role of a mathematics specialist.

Conference Registration Fee:  $100.00 

Optional Banquet Dinner Thursday night at Peppers Grill: $20

Conference registration fees include the conference, lunch both days, and a light breakfast Friday morning. 

Registration to the conference will be limited to the first 200 registrants.  Dinner is limited to the first 150 registrants.
